Hi Spaxz,

That error should only come up when you open Outlook Today screen - you need to edit the registry to fix it. I have the instructions here - https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/outlook-today...

I don't think this will work for me because I didn't upgrade this and don't have the 1.0 and 1.1 key in the registry. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I've had a couple others with the same issue - I suggested they reset the folder home but they didn't say if it worked.

Reset the home page: Right click on the folder name and choose Data File Properties, then Home page tab and the Reset.

The error should only come up if you use outlook today - you can set another folder (such as inbox or calendar) as the startup folder in File > Options > Advanced - at the top.

Do you mean reset the folder in Outlook or when I'm in Outlook? If so, I'm unable to do that because after the dialog box pops up, another box pops up that locks Outlook and says Ok - then Outlook closes.

Can you get a screenshot of the second box? Normally, you can close the script dialog and go on - just without Outlook Today loading.

Do the errors come up in Safe mode? To open Outlook in Safe mode: Close Outlook then hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon. You'll get a message asking if you want to start in Safe mode. Click Ok.

I have never bee able to open Outlook in safe mode for some reason. I get a Cannot Start Outlook dialog box.

Anyway, I've made some progress now. I opened a saved email on my computer and it opened as an outlook item. Form there I was able to get into Outlook and disable Outlook Today. Since doing that... I am not getting the script error.

I'm now getting the "Failed to register a VB Script DLL dialog box. Then it closes Outlook.

I've Googled and tried every trick for this error and nothing works. I have tried re registering the file in CMD prompt, renaming the FRMDATA64.DAT file with no luck, the Windows 10 outlook repair, quick and long ones... with still no luck.

Any Ideas?

From memory (looked this AM), there were only office apps listed. No antivirus and no 3rd party apps.

Updated** Screen shot below. I can get into settings by opening up saved email in my document folder.

I actually found a way to get into Outlook without the script error. Open a saved email from my documents, the email opens. I then open Outlook and it opens with no issue. I can click around in it but when I go to add an email account I get the infamous Not Implemented dialog box.

If you enable the VBA addin, does that make a difference?

Was one of the things you tried reinstalling or repairing net framework?

I used the .net repair tool, it told me to reinstall. I tried reinstalling 4.8 but got an error: .NET Framework 4.8 or a later update is already installed on this computer

As far as VBA, is it installed already? See screenshots below.
